Fixtures
It is used to fix and position parts during the manufacturing process to ensure precise alignment during each processing. It is a key auxiliary tool to ensure high product quality and uniform specifications.
Automated production lines have created a miraculous force for saving manpower and material costs across various industries. From the very beginning of the design process, engineers rack their brains, devising innovative ideas and completing various design steps. Fixtures are essential for every workstation during these initial stages of the process. In other words, all the executors of an automated production line are fixtures.
Fixtures play a crucial role in automated production lines. For example, loading materials requires fixtures. Fixtures circulate at every workstation on the assembly line, all the way to unloading, including the robot's gripper.
A production line without fixtures wouldn't be a production line. Therefore, when designing an automated production line, the first thing to consider is fixtures. Design the tooling for each step before designing the main flow components.
For example, ultrasonic welding equipment requires a set of fixtures to hold the product in place. The main components being welded are fixed to the fixtures. The accuracy of the fixtures determines the precision and beauty of the ultrasonically welded product. A good ultrasonic welding machine requires both fixtures and ultrasonic welding molds; both are indispensable.
In summary, many automated production lines and automated assembly lines rely on fixtures.
